Engineering Mentorship

A senior engineer as your direct mentor throughout the program. Weekly check-ins and a mid-term review included.

Facility Access

Access to our Munich test facility and, where relevant, the Toulouse integration cleanroom. Observers are welcome at campaign milestones.

Competitive Stipend

Monthly stipend commensurate with location and duration. Relocation assistance available for interns moving to Munich or Toulouse.

Internship Programs

Propulsion & Structures

Engineering
Munich, Germany·3–6 months

Work alongside propulsion engineers on combustion analysis, structural testing, and component qualification. Hands-on work in our Munich test facility.

Looking for
  • Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (3rd year+)
  • Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Nastran) a plus
  • Python or MATLAB

GNC & Flight Software

Engineering
Munich, Germany·3–6 months

Contribute to guidance, navigation, and control algorithm development for Vanguard vehicles. Work in a flight-software environment with real mission data.

Looking for
  • Software, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering
  • C++ or Python
  • Interest in control theory or orbital mechanics

Earth Observation & Data Science

Space Data
Toulouse, France·3–6 months

Process and analyze multispectral and SAR imagery. Build machine learning pipelines for feature extraction, change detection, and automated analysis.

Looking for
  • Data Science, Remote Sensing, or Physics
  • Python, GDAL, or ML frameworks
  • Geospatial data experience a plus

Mission Operations

Operations
Munich, Germany·6 months

Support launch campaign preparation, mission timeline development, and on-console operations training. Direct exposure to real flight constraints and decision-making.

  • Aerospace Engineering or Physics
  • Systems thinking and attention to detail
  • Availability for a full 6-month commitment

Business Development & Strategy

Commercial
Munich, Germany·3–6 months

Research market opportunities, support proposals, and analyze the competitive landscape for launch and satellite services. Direct exposure to the commercial space market.

Looking for
  • Business, Economics, or Engineering background
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills
  • Interest in the space industry

Technical Exercise

A short take-home task relevant to your program area. Typically 2–3 hours. Reviewed within one week.

Offer

Decision within 48 hours of completing the technical exercise. Stipend details and start date confirmed in writing.
